What is Walkers?
Walkers is a third-person, open-world survival game set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. You scavenge, craft and loot, then turn any spot on the map into a fortified outpost — and, more unusually, into a settlement. Survivors you rescue can be assigned as workers, guards or companions, and their loyalty depends on how well you feed, equip and house them.
The official Steam description frames the game around four pillars: building an outpost, building a community of NPCs, surviving raids and zombie hordes, and adapting to a dynamic weather system. A skill tree with Aggressive, Adventurous and Resilient branches and two separate modes — Campaign and Survival — round out the loop.
Build an outpost anywhere
Any place that feels safe can become your home: shelters, chests and walls wherever you like, with free-form architecture and decoration.
A community, not just NPCs
Rescue and convince survivors from the streets. Workers gather and build, guards hold the gate, companions follow you into the wasteland.
Raids and hordes
Rival factions loot your base and zombies swarm when they catch the scent of humans. The bigger your base, the bigger the threat — and you can raid them back.
Weather that kills
Heavy rain makes indoor shelter life-saving; snow demands a heat source. The weather changes what a good base looks like.
Campaign or permadeath
Campaign mode sends you back to your outpost when you die. Survival mode is permadeath — your death resets the world to zero.
Skills and progression
Three skill paths — Aggressive, Adventurous and Resilient — shape how you fight, explore and endure.
